Here's one, from my boxes of unpublished stories. I choose it because I'd like to make the writer's suggestion in his first paragraph my New Year's resolution, though I know I won't, and because its title comes first alphabetically in my growing collection of never-before-printed stories
Agony: A Minute at a Time
We were comfortable with each other, because we’d done everything to each other. We were “Les Six”: young career men, who enjoyed the arts. At 34 I was the oldest in the group, but I was the leader and role model. (Gentle Reader, let me once again lecture you on the importance of proper diet and exercise.
