11:30 Chicago Time
Got to Chicago yesterday early afternoon without incident, Lee and I and our beloved Matthew, who used to manage the B&G office and exerts a calming influence on the two of us. We haven’t bitten each other’s heads off yet. Our plane was an hour late taking off from Newark, but what else is new? Once arrived at the Marriott on Magnificent Mile (I’ve learned from more than one Chicagoan that it’s “Magnificent”, not “Miraculous”, as I punishably called it) we found our booth and eventually got our equipment, thanks to the great bunch of IML guys doing all the back end stuff here, then set up our booth, right across the aisle from Mr S. and diagonally across from Nasty Pig. Our area is small but will be adequate for us, we’ll just have to tie willing guys up into very tight packages; we'll have to use the rest of the space for giving away magazines and soliciting names and email addresses for the relaunch, the real purpose of our participation here.
Lots of guys came up to me to say hello, many of whom I know much better than I seemed to. Just FYI, I have a terrible memory for faces and sometimes for names so if you know me and I don’t seem to know you back, you may have to identify yourself, even if you turn out to be my brother (As far as I recall, I don’t have a brother, but you never know).
Last night, dinner with cousins who live in Chicago, a great restaurant somewhere in Chinatown. Then more drinks in a popular Chicago dive, and finally back to the hotel where things were roaring in the lobby but we went to bed.
We’ll be doing little bondage scenes during the Leather Market hours, with help from some wonderful, willing volunteers. We’ll probably be alternating our bondage shoots with the ones Boundjocks will be doing across from us, where they’re part of the Mr. S exhibition.
Tomorrow adored Top/Dom Jason Branch, who starred in Masters & Slaves and Boy on Tap, will be at our booth for a while to say hello to worshipful fans. He'll probably get there around noon. So all in all, things have started off real well, and we think we’re going to be having lots of fun.
Pics to follow.
