In reaction to the recent posts from the slave trainee, and before yesterday's letter from the Master, a favorite reader wrote:
I’ve been following the current “Slave” series, but sorta can't figure out whether our guy is just new and eager or wanted a master to put him out of his misery. In my own humble opinion, a slave is not so committed to a master that he’ll do WHATEVER. I’m not jumping out a window or doing anything unsafe or illegal. I would commit to Master because I trust Master to care for me, like a stern parent or an uptight DI.
Many slave contracts get written in the “heat of ecstatic fantasy,” great porn, but not very realistic. A true Master in today’s world wants his slave to grow – perhaps to become his executive assistant, finish his medical degree, perhaps to become a master himself some day. An honest Master/slave contract probably should not exceed one year, with provision for revision and renewal. 
Per your invitation, here’s a version of what I think might be a reasonable contract. I’ve specified just enough to help the Master in case there’s some “problem.”
CONTRACT FOR CUSTODY AND TRAINING
This contract is a binding agreement between: ___________(hereafter referred to as slave) and: __________________ (hereafter referred to as Master) for the period dating from ____________________ to__________________(End Date).
I PROMISE, ON MY HONOR, to reverence and obey ________________ as my Master. I willingly assign custody and authority over my person and property to Master ___________, submitting at all times to Master’s discipline, instruction and training, in public or private and whether or not Master is present. I pledge my Body, Heart & Obedience 24/7.
Master has the sole right to use slave for his own service, pleasure and benefit. The slave specifically requests to be trained and used for sexual service. Master, at his sole discretion, may: assign activities or duties, punish or reward, limit or restrict freedom, humiliate, give or remove privileges and all other things necessary for proper discipline and training, including confinement and corporal punishment.
As Master, I agree to collar this man as my boy and to provide training as a slave in the leather community tradition. I will honor the agreed Limits and provide for slave’s training and reasonable maintenance, safety and security.
The terms of this Contract begins immediately upon its being signed by both slave and his Master.
At some date prior to End Date, Master and slave may negotiate an extension of this Contract, or a new agreement. Otherwise, without further action by these parties, this Contract expires on the End Date at 12:00am (Midnight).

I understand the above contract and by my signature do willingly turn over to the undersigned Master all Authority over me, including custody of my person, for slave training:

Limits
Excluded at all times: Anything permanent, Animals, Blood, Branding, Children, Drugs, Illegal activities, Skat, Tattoos
