The elections last month were as good as we had any right to expect, I suppose, and let’s hope that the legislative change next month leads to a real change in this country’s misguided direction. Unlikely but, like miracles, it could happen. Things are so bad now on so many fronts that even if the Democratic majority does show some spine and make many much needed changes, it’s anyone’s guess how much worse things will get before they get better, whatever better may mean. In Iraq, which we invaded for Cheney’s Halliburton and friends in March of 2003 and have now been in longer than we were in World War II, untold thousands of Iraqis have been killed and are getting killed as I write. The Iraqis are certainly far worse off today than they were under Saddam Hussein (who as anyone with a brain knew from the beginning played no part in the 9/11 attack). Far fewer of that country’s citizens died under Saddam’s monstrous watch than have died under ours, and the country’s public utilities worked. The first step in any solution, for us at least, should be to get out at once, since we’re not going to stop the civil war we caused, and the billions we’re spending in Iraq might be used to help stop some of the misery at home— what happened to New Orleans and especially its poor is the shame of this nation—and even prevent some of the terrorism that almost certainly will be coming our way sooner or later.
Not that it’s terrorism we should be most worried about. Global warming, which fossil fuel interests like to pretend is a hoax despite the unanimous disagreement of all scientists who say it’s the greatest present threat to life on earth, might kill off the entire planet if it’s allowed to continue its inexorable march. In our country, which has become an embarrassment to Americans with a conscience, the idea of torture has become acceptable, as has imprisonment without habeas corpus or, often, trial.
Almost 3,000 young men and women have died in a war for oil which their government lied to them about, and over 20,000 have been wounded and maimed, probably for life. We have spent the last six years under the most corrupt administration in this country’s history, led by a petulant, faith-based moron who believes he rules by divine right. The rich have gotten very rich indeed, and pay even less than they used to in taxes, while the great mass who live in poverty and lack rudimentary health insurance will be lucky if they get a minimum wage hike that won’t even begin to pay all their bills, or get them out of poverty. We have turned ourselves into our own banana republic. Just a few random thoughts upon seeing Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth,” which Lee and I watched this afternoon, and which all of you should see, if you haven’t already.
And now that I’ve vented, on to a few words about what really matters: good bondage, the thrill of dominance and submission, power and helplessness, thrillingly experienced by enthusiastic participants who get exactly what they need and come out glowing, with no one more the worse for wear than he wanted to be when the experience began. I’ve had a bunch of requests for different stories recently, and will set about putting them up.
Not having received many requests until that sudden spate came in, I'd decided I’d choose a story I liked from each issue of B&G, starting with Issue 1. I put up a whole bunch of those last week, and now have a goal to attain. I’ll try to post another bunch this weekend, including among them the stories I've been asked for, and continue doing so regularly.
I’ve also finally put up the Zeus video titles I still have for sale, though you may have to click on this link to see them (bobwingate.blogs.com/miscellaneous_bondage_vid/) since I’m still not sure how to put them in the body of the sidebar. I’ll try to put up my Projex and Torsion videos in the coming week. I’ll also try to post here, at least briefly, more often than I’ve been doing to date, but in case I neglect to do so, let me wish you happy holidays now.
All these years of entertaining us with great bondage, and arguably wiser and more Christian that all the republicans in government and religion put together. Thanks Bob. Have a really good new year.
Frodo failed, Bush has the ring.
